Day 3 of the NFL combine is over and saw a very deep group of offensive linemen take the field for the various drills.
OT Bruce Campbell (Maryland) helped himself tremendously by running the 40-yd dash in 4.85 s range which is incredible for a 314 lbs lineman. He benched pressed 225 lbs 34 times which is also impressive for a guy with 36 1/2 inches arms. He has cemented himself as a first round pick and possibly a top 15 pick.
OT Trent Williams (Oklahoma) also helped himself, running a 4.88 40 yd-dash and looking very good on the lineman drills
OT Anthony Davis (Rutgers) on the other hand had a very poor day, and looked half a step slow on just about everything he took part in.
OT Bryan Bulaga (Iowa) looked great in drills. He will be a first round pick
OT Mike Iupati (Idaho) looked great in the drills. He should be a first round pick
TE Jimmy Graham (Miami FL) is one of those guys that no one paid much attention to until the combine where he put up great numbers. He ran a 4.56
Other news:
Jimmy Clausen and Sam Bradford will not throw at the combine. Terrence Cody showed up at 354 lbs which is about 20 lbs lighted than he was at the Senior Bowl. Smart move, let's see how he moves on Monday.
Tomorrow:
QB, WR, RB. A little more fun! Seriously I don't really give a shit until the defensive player take the field, this year even more than previous years given the Vikes needs.
Players I most intrigued with:
MLB Rolando McClain: Some say that McClain is not a true sideline to sideline middle linebacker but he is an extremely intelligent and instinctive player who is literally a coach on the field.
OLB Sean Weatherspoon: I absolutely love Weatherspoon. Dude is a big time backer, terrific leader, and will be productive from day 1. He will be a star at the next level.
WR Eric Decker: No just kidding. Great size and good quickness but lacks good speed. Probably a second day pick
RB LeGarrette Blount: Dude is a load at 241 lbs and bigger than most LBs in the league. Hope he doesn't sucker punch anyone at the combine and I wouldn't spend anything higher than a 3rd or 4th on him but put Blount as the backup for AP and watch defenders run away for their fucking lives!
CB Kyle Wilson, Jerome Murphy, Patrick Robinson: Vikes need a corner. bad.
DT Terrence Cody: 354 lbs of pure immovable meat. Could end up being picked in the 2nd round given depth at position.
S Eric Berry: Because he is so exciting to watch... Hope he doesn't go to the Raiders, I would cry myself to sleep for the next 6 month.
S Taylor Mays: Dude could slide. Just saying...
S Earl Thomas: That's Bob Sanders right there. He won't be available for the Vikes but I can always dream.
